Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Lara puts her hands on her hips an frowns. "You didn't get any sleep, did you?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"No.." She sighs. "If I sleep, I'll just have nightmares. I'd rather stay awake than risk it."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The gates, which are closed and locked, open as the man comes near. He walks up the steps to the front door, which also opens for him. He walks inside, stops for a second and looks at his surroundings, as if trying to sense something. Finally, he smiles and walks around to a specific room, as if he knows the directions already. He makes it to two large double doors, which he observes for a second before they open. He steps into the library of the Castle, staring at the people inside.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Lara rolls her eyes at the sound of a door opening. "Jesus, who decided to join the party n-" When Lara actually sees the man, her eyes widen and her face is similliar to that of a child who had just been caught by a parent while misbehaving. "L...Lord...Avalon? You're...alive...?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn glances at Lara with a sort of bewildered look on her face, then turns to look at this new man. She gets up and walks up to him, an eyebrow arched. "Did I hear that right? Lord Avalon?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Before answering Ayn, he answers Lara. "Good to see you again, Lara. It's been almost 2,000 years. I've been alive and well the entire time." He turns his attention to Ayn. "Yes, you did hear correctly. My name is Gin Avalon. I also know who you are, Ayn Vorena."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Lara sighs at Ayn's lack of respect, but since Gin's a relative she'll allow him to deal with it.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn turns to look at Lara, a confused expression on her face. She turns back to Gin.
"Vorena, huh.. So I do have a last name." |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Of course you do." He frowns slightly. "Before we continue, may I ask where the bodies are buried? I have felt the family's aura weaken, so I traveled all the way here. And I'd like to see my sons."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Yeah.. They're in the courtyard, I'll show you." She turns and starts to lead him out to the courtyard, which was still slightly wet and smelled of rain from the small storm that came through.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gin follows closely behind. When they make it out to the courtyard, Gin approaches the gravestones. He passes by two that are next to each other, and goes to one thats alone in a corner. "Look at my boy. Do you know how it feels to see your children die before you?" Gin's face remains impassive, but his voice seemed to have raised slightly higher, enough to be noticed. When he spoke again, he spoke in a cooler tone. "Do you know who buried him?" He doesn't wait for Ayn to answer, he walks over to the two graves situated next to each other, and looks at the headstone on the left. "Another son, Gale lies here. What could make a family turn against itself?" He had paid no attention to the two other graves in the courtyard, he was staring intently at Ayn now.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn feels incredibly small standing there with Gin staring at her, and only shakes her head at his first question. She glances at the graves, her eyes filling with tears. It seems being questioned about her brothers is only opening up more wounds. "I.. I don't know who buried One, I assume Gale did."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Gale buried him? And who buried Gale?" Gin noticed Ayn starting to get stressed, so he eased on his questions. But he made note to ask Lara later.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn stares at the ground, her voice tiny and barely above a whisper. "...I did.."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gin nods approvingly. "Thank you." As he finishes, rain begins to come down from the sky. Gin looks up and then back to Ayn. "Let's go back inside, shall we?" He moves in on Ayn, and leads her to the library.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn only nods, and walks with Gin back to the library, feeling a bit uncomfortable. He is family, but he still felt like a stranger to her.
Once they're back in the library she stands next to him and rubs her eyes. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Lara watches Ayn and Gin come inside, throwing the two towels. "A lot of people died, sir. You're not the only one who lost family."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The towel that Lara threw stopped in front of Gin, he reached out and got it and began to dry himself off. "I'm terribly sorry, Lara. I did not mean to disrespect you." He didn't want to say it openly, but he was talking about Jekin. "It's a shame that what happened had to happen."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Yeah...we'll all get over it in time, I suppose." She pours herself another glass of wine, and offers Gin some.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
He stares at the wine, and turns away. It was a drink he hated, reminded him of when they lived in Obersin, as it was the only drink available there. "No, thank you." Gin takes a seat in a chair, and leans his cane on the armrest.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
The towel catches Ayn off guard and hits her square in the face. She blinks, then bends over to pick it up. Noticing Gin had sat down, she wanders over to him and plops down on the floor, wondering how she should address him. "Um... sir..? Lara says that Gale had an older sister.. Could you tell me about her, please?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gin raises his eyebrows slightly at seeing Ayn sit on the floor. But he ignores it. "Gale's older sister is named Rain. She left before the Abbis Angel War, she knew that she had one younger brother, Gale, but didn't know of the other sibling, Shiloko who came much later. She was very smart, one of the smartest of the kids her age. The reason she left before the war was to study. She's probably still out traveling. I don't know where she is, but I know she's not dead."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Rain.. Okay.. Do you know anything about my father? Er.. Well, I suppose you're technically my father, but.." There's a hint of embarrassment on her face.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Gin Vorena was, as you probably know, the good energy from me. Shortly after he came out, he became dissatisfied with the Abbis. So he left and took up the life of a human. I can't say we kept in contact. In fact, I have no way of knowing where he could be right now. For some reason, I cannot sense the aura of Gin Vorena or Gin Onarav. So I do not know if they are dead or alive." Gin had purposely held back on some of the details, so as to not hurt Ayn. He took a quick glance at Lara, and tried to contact her telepathically. "Lara, I don't want to ask Ayn for she looks as if the answer would make her crumble. But how did Gale die? And how did One die? What was the purpose of all this fighting?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Lara does not respond to Gin, immeadiately. As if she was once again taking in all that had occured in all but a few days. "This was all about Gale. He met a woman, and she was murdered. After that, he completely lost in and tried to kill everyone and the entire world. We all went to stop him. In Estecia, we woke up to find Gale and One outside, One was..dead. Then we came here, Ayn went to fight Gale around. When we found them, Gale was dead and a man named Rand had told Ayn her past in an attempt to weaken her mind. That's....really all there is to tell."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn nods slowly, letting what Gin told her soak in.
Now that she had most of the information she had been seeking, her mind relaxes a bit, and she leans against a table leg, genuine exhaustion seeping in. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Is this Rand person dead?" Gin keeps his eyes on Ayn. "The reason I came here is because enough is enough, I believe. Gin Onarav and I had problems with your father, we let this hate for each other consume our lives, especially between Onarav and Vorena. This showed up in their children, you and Gale had problems. Sadly, it is too late to change history. But I don't want there to be anymore hate between family members. If I could find Onarav and Vorena, I would try to make peace. But I can't find them, so I decide to search out Vorena's daughter. Ultimately, it was probably our fault that this hate happened. I have five children: One, Gale, Shiloko, Rain, and you. Two are dead. Another is everything but dead. That only leaves Rain and you. But I felt I owed it to you to come and try to explain what I could." Gin looks sadly into her eyes.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn looks back at Gin with understanding. Although.. "You didn't mention.. Bianca." Thinking of her was bringing Ayn more pain, and she looks away, staring at a bookcase.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Lara looks down. "No, Rand survived." She then picks up the empty bottle of wine and goes to throw it away.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gin looks a little confused. "Excuse me? I'm sorry, but I don't know of anyone in the family named Bianca. Onarav only had three children, I, one, and your father, one. I know for a fact there are only five, I don't sense anyone else, nor have I ever sensed anyone else." Gin gives a quick nod to Lara. "A powerful being then. What is he?"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Lara shrugs. "I'm not entirely sure, Ayn knows the most about him. However, now is not the time to ask, as you well know."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn stares. "What? How could you not know her, she was my little sister!" She continues staring, desperate for some sort of understanding.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
He is taken aback by this claim. "I'm sorry, Ayn, but you do not have any siblings under your father. You're the only one."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn shakes her head at him, eyes wide and angry. "No.. That's a lie. She was sent to us from Mom and Dad right after she was born.. She spoke Abissian too.." Ayn jumps to her feet and stumbles slightly, disoriented from emotion. She quickly regains her balance and backs away. "Why are you lying to me?!"
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gin magically moves one of the nearby chairs behind Ayn so as she backs up, she falls into one. "If she spoke Abbissian, it was because she picked it up from you. Listen, I have no reason to lie. I did not travel all this way to be caught in the act of lying, either. You do not have a little sister." His tone was more of a command than a statement, he was not in the mood to argue something like this.
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Ayn snarls, then gets up again. Thoughts and emotions swirl around in her head at an incredibly fast pace. She stumbles, dizzy, and holds her head in her hands for a few seconds before regaining control of herself and glaring at Gin. "Stop it with your God damn lying!! If you're such a smartass and know everything, then why don't you know anything about Bianca?! Do you want me to take you to her?! Now she's screaming. "Do you want me to show you what this ****ing family fued has done to her?!"
She starts to leave but finds she's unable to control herself anymore and leans against a bookcase. She slides to the floor and sits, her back to the bookcase. Her face is buried in her knees and she sobs uncontrollably. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Lara sits infront of Ayn and hugs her, trying to comfort the sobbing girl. "She's just a child, sir. It's all too overwhelming for her...the poor girl."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gin gets up and walks towards Ayn, stopping short. He looks down at her and Lara, his face showing no expression or emotion. "Don't worry, Lara. I understand completely."
|
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
___
"Bingo," A voice exclaimed in a sing-song tone. At the same moment, a gargoyle on the castle roof 'opens' its glowing red eyes. The stone beast turns into a true monster before returning to his true form, Legion. He had been there all along, recovering under the guise of a decorative statue. Without having to worry about Hayate, or anyone else, he could freely gather energy and craft a new claw. Now he was ready to hunt. Legion let's out a gleeful giggle before fading into the roof of the castle. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
After a few minutes Ayn finally calms down, really too exhausted to cry anymore. She leans heavily on Lara, her eyes closed and appearing to be asleep.
